The library

Colophon opens to your library: a grid of every document you've added, sortable by recency, title, or page count. Each card shows a document's title and page count, and a small badge marks how many collections it belongs to.

Collections group documents by subject rather than by folder, so a single document can belong to several at once, and each collection scopes both search and the Apple Intelligence chat to just what's inside it.

The editor

Opening a document puts you in the editor, organized around seven modes reachable from a tool rail on iPad and Mac, or a bottom bar on iPhone: Read for paginated viewing, Edit for changing text and images in place, Annotate for markup, Pages for reorganizing, Crop for trimming a page's visible bounds, Redact for permanently removing content, and Sign for handwritten or cryptographic signatures.

Document-level actions such as Protect, Share, Present, and Ask sit alongside the modes rather than inside them, since they act on the whole file rather than a single page.

Everything stays on your device

Every one of those modes runs locally: editing, redaction, signing, scanning, search indexing, and the Apple Intelligence chat all execute on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. See On-device by default for what that means in practice.
